Frequency: Clean on a regular schedule with a general purpose cleaner such as “Soil-Off” by Ecolab.
Material: For food preparation and beverage facilities, Soil-Off is a near neutral general purpose cleaner formulated to effectively dissolve and lift grease, oils, and other animal soils from the surface. Follow the manufacturer’s directions for safe handling and application. Read carefully the MSDS and product label. Do not use a cleaner or stain remover that contains chlorinated hydrocarbons or aromatic hydrocarbons. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Method: The smooth, high gloss antimicrobial gel-coated surface of an Arcoplast fiberglass reinforced composite panel can best be cleaned with a sponge, soft bristle brush or high pressure sprayers. Test a small area before applying over the entire surface. Rinse thoroughly wall and ceiling surfaces with potable water. Do not use hard bristle brush or metal scouring pad. Note: Stubborn stains and water spots that cannot be removed with the above method may be removed with Arcoplast Aqua–Buff 2000 Compound and Polish or 3M Marine Finesse-It II finishing material. Scratches: Minor scratches, scuff marks and heavy oxidation can be removed with 3M Marine Super Duty Rubbing Compounds. Small amounts applied to the surface and machine buff will remove imperfections. Please note: The Arcoplast gel coat finish has a thickness of 20 mils. Caution must be exercised when buffing with aggressive compounds to prevent damage or loss of performance. For optimal appearance and high gloss finish, complete with an application of 3M Marine Finesse-it II finishing compound. Consult manufacturer’s recommendation for hand or machine applications. Rinse for cleaning of hard water deposits Material: 10% solution of acetic acid in “COLD” water Method: Use in the same manner as above. Rinse thoroughly with cold water to remove all traces of acetic acid. High Pressure: High pressure wash is a highly effective way of cleaning the gel coat surface. To ensure safe and effective cleaning, a wand-type nozzle applicator with a 40 degree spray pattern is best suited. The application should not exceed 2000 psi. and the applicator should maintain a distance of 24” to 36” from spray nozzle to the Arcoplast surface. Polishing: To maintain a brilliant and high gloss shine, a boat wax and polish protectant such as 3M Marine Fiberglass Cleaner and Wax is recommended. It combines a light rubbing compound and wax into one simple procedure. Consult manufacturer’s recommendation for hand or machine applications.
